No ads — on purpose, not by accident.

A free app for kids is paid for somehow. Usually that “somehow” is the child. We didn't want to be that.

Koydo Stories is a subscription product. Parents pay, once, on a plan they can cancel anytime. The child never sees a price, never sees an ad, never sees a “watch this to unlock” gate. The whole library, once you are in, is the whole library.

That choice ruled some things out. We don't run banner ads. We don't run video pre-rolls. We don't do in-app purchases of stickers, characters, hats, coins, or anything else a four-year-old could spend money on by accident. We don't sell or share what your child reads to anyone. We don't put third-party tracking pixels on a children's reading product.

It also rules some growth tactics out. We can't do the free-with-ads tier that drives most kids-app installs. We can't monetise a child playing alone in the car for forty minutes. We can't fund the company on engagement, only on whether parents think the subscription is worth keeping each month.

We think that's the right shape for a reading product for children. It does mean the app costs money. And until we open, there is a wait list — when we launch, the adults who care most about how their kids read are the ones we want to tell first.
