Meet the six core friends.
These six friends anchor the Koydo world. Most stories pass through one or more of them, and the wider cast grows from the same original character system.

Koyo
The kind one. The one who notices.
Koyo is the friend who sees a small thing first — a lantern still lit at sunrise, a friend sitting quietly when the others are loud. Most adventure stories start with Koyo catching something that everyone else walked past.

Mira
The curious one. The one with the question.
Mira asks the question the story turns on. Sometimes it is a big one (why does the lighthouse hum at night?) and sometimes it is a small one (why does Pip’s sock have a different pattern than the other sock?). Either way, Mira goes looking.

Numi
The counter. The patterner.
Numi notices how many. How many bees. How many windows lit. How many steps from the bridge to the well. Numi-led stories are the ones where math sneaks in sideways — counting, sorting, fairness — without anyone ever saying the word “math.”

Orbit
The dreamer. The sky-watcher.
Orbit lives one foot in the Sky-Isles and one foot in Hollowmere. Comets are friends Orbit hasn’t met yet. Most of the bigger questions in the Koydo universe — distance, weather, why some stars feel like they wave back — start with Orbit looking up.

Beat
The maker of sound and rhythm.
Beat hears everything as music. Rain on a roof becomes a song. A bandstand pavilion becomes a stage. Beat-led stories are where rhythm is the verb — the way three friends walk together, the way a story repeats.

Pip
The careful one. The one who packs the snacks.
Pip is the friend who keeps everyone safe in small, practical ways. Pip remembers the umbrella. Pip sorts the picnic. Pip’s stories are about looking after each other on purpose — not because someone got hurt, but because that’s how Pip likes it.
