Mira studies an empty blue calendar square and worries it needs something important
Mira slid a blue paper square across the table and frowned at its empty middle.
The square had four straight sides, four sharp corners, and absolutely nothing inside it.
Beside her sat a cup of crayons, a strip of stickers, and one silver star she had been saving for something special.
The trouble was that everything special felt too big.
A dragon? A rocket? A parade?
Mira tapped the square with one claw and sighed.
